The assignment: Use cut paper, found objects, tape, fabric, xeroxes, most anything you can think of EXCEPT photo-paper photograhs and representational drawing. Paint and pecil/charcoal is okay if used for non-drawing purposes.
Use a compositional structure from one of these five: Grid, Circular, Spiral, Triangular, Diamond/X-Shape. Consider balace and symmetry.
Must use at least two colors (black and white are not colors). Consider that compositions tend to work best when colors are repeated to establish dominance, allowing others to be in relief. Note that warm colors tend to dominate cool colors. Use repetition, variety and unity, emphasis, shape and line. Consider value and contrast as they relate to emphasis.
Forms should be applied to the wall with temporary items, nails/tacks/push pins etc. Do not draw or paint on the walls.
